His dad James Colson Baker struggled with depression and unemployment, while her mother Sonia Alane left them when at the age of nine. Late in 2011, the Cleveland rapper became a household name when he made the transition from self-releasing mixtapes and then signing with reputable labels. It was from there, with all of his releases making it to the top 10 on charts.
